Dorian Tanc | Ipseity, gender, attitudes
From March 4, 2025 to March 11, 2025
Dorian Tanc grew up in Lviv. After studying at the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels de la Cambre in Brussels, he fully dedicates himself to video. This conceptual artist devotes his critical project to the question of gestures.
Where then to position the filigreed flesh, this subtle essence that weaves our existence? In the work entitled "Ipseity, gender, attitudes," the artist Dorian Tanc embarks on a disconcertingly fine deconstruction of figuration, transcending mere appearances. Rather than settling for the reinvention of abstract mathematics, this audacious installation aims to reshape and reinvent the present moment in all its complexity. "Ipseity, gender, attitudes" thus seeks to conjure matter, inviting us to plunge into a developmental instant where the tangible and the ephemeral intersect. Drawing on the penetrating reflections of Alain Damasio, Tanc acutely interrogates the disaffection of the subject, illuminating the interstices of an often-forgotten individuality...
Xochitl Markul | Deconstructing Figuration
Loading...
Xochitl Markul was born in Tremblay and now lives between Auckland and Tokyo. He was an artist in residence at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris until 1987. This multidisciplinary artist is marked by the question of the self.
Where must one pertinently position the museum within the framework of a temporary exhibition? In the audacious work entitled "Deconstructing Figuration," Xochitl Markul engages in a profound subjectivization of digital art, thus exploring the meanders of the virtual with remarkable intensity. Through a simultaneously mechanical and critical approach, her project seeks to reshape the identity of the self while casting a questioning gaze upon the very conception of the subject. Indeed, "Deconstructing Figuration" aims to invoke the act of creation while blurring the traditional boundaries of the museum, subtly playing with its codes. This intellectual and reflective play paves the way for a new apprehension of the body, intertwining thought and art in an unprecedented and delicate dance.
