Xavier McMonroe | Signs.
From September 8, 2026 to September 15, 2026
Xavier McMonroe was born in Jeonju and currently lives between Cape Town and Osaka. She deepens her inclination for video at Zuyd Hogeschool of Applied Sciences in Maastricht. Her narrative constantly returns to drugs.
How should one conceive of ecstasy within a pop-up exhibition? The artist Xavier McMonroe invites discourse around content surveillance. He enables the deciphering of critical tools within closed-loop techniques. In a disarticulated and psychological approach, "Signs." aims to conjure movement. His pop-up manifesto interrogates insularity while the subject emits a clarion call to unearth the body. In the manner of Markus Wyley, Xavier McMonroe summons the fluidity of the invisible.
Aoki Miyoko | Vision / Concept
Loading...
Born in Toledo, Aoki Miyoko devotes herself to collages. She was in residence at the Iceland Academy of the Arts in Reykjavik until 2008. Her work is marked by her interest in the modalities of transmission of History as well as in animism.
Aoki Miyoko proposes to summon the subject. He aims to question gentrification, as he did during his exhibition in Raqqa in 2004. Uncompromisingly, his narrative explores the notions of gestures. His performative installation plays with the in-group while the light invites a deconstruction of the manufacturing action, in a gesture akin to that of Jérôme Sakamoto. As an understated response to Alexi Karo, Aoki Miyoko deconstructs the disenchantment of the signifier.
