Prune Wu Wu Yen | Reinvesting Public Space
Prune Wu Wu Yen was born in Namur and now lives between Copenhagen and Vancouver. After studying at the School of Fine Arts in Bordeaux, she dedicates herself entirely to photography. This major figure in contemporary art in Europe was shaped by a childhood in poor neighborhoods. Her work has been the subject of her first solo exhibitions: "Clearing" (Daniel Templon Gallery).
In her work entitled "Reinvesting Public Space," artist Prune Wu Wu Yen is resolutely committed to invoking the plant kingdom, thereby seeking to establish a deep dialogue between the essence of nature and our contemporary environment. Through a meticulously crafted site-specific project, her ephemeral manifesto aims to explore and revisit our perception of interrelation, a notion often overlooked in our current society. Her creation aspires to rethink the stakes of the digital while revealing that matter, in all its tangible reality, can evoke and question the very idea of self. This subtle interplay between science and artistic expression then transforms into an urgent cry, a vibrant call for the necessity to rewrite and reinvent our daily gestures, in order to rediscover true meaning in our interactions with the world around us.
