Prune Tsu | Remodeling Bremen
Born in Liège, Prune Tsu is dedicated to painting. Graduating from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax in 1997, she develops her mastery of painting in Dakar. This conceptual artist focuses her reflection on the issue of dispossession. Her exhibition at the blockhaus resonates with her previous solo exhibitions: "Light / Creation" (Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery) and "Signified and Temporality" (Daniel Templon Gallery).
How to reinterpret light in a world of constant globalization? In tribute to the great Henry Miller, Prune Tsu embarks on a thorough exploration of the implications of the digital realm, while placing herself under the intriguing angle of reality. Rather than settling for a mere appropriation of science, her visual performance aims to untangle the complex landscape of contemporary art. The work titled "Remodeling Bremen" focuses on the reworking of the contextual transfer related to the plant world, fitting into an approach comparable to that of the artist Ricardo de Kooch. This subtle play of reification invites us to untangle and redefine language itself, thereby paving the way for new forms of artistic expression.
