Markus Ketter | Light, experience, body
From September 30, 2025 to October 7, 2025
Markus Ketter was born in Frankfurt/Oder and currently resides between Copenhagen and Vancouver. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York in 1992, he broadens his knowledge through performances in Hong Kong. This tireless provocateur is obsessed with the question of kitsch.
What is, in reality, the role of technique when it resonates with contemporary political currents, and how can it influence our perception of the world? In his work titled "Light, experience, body," the artist Markus Ketter embarks on a thoughtful endeavor aimed at profoundly rethinking the very subject of art and its implications. Through a bold in situ intervention, his installation provocatively interrogates both the content and the underlying values attributed to art within this shifting context. "Light, experience, body" thus seeks to revisit the issue of gentrification, a multifaceted phenomenon that transforms our urban landscapes and daily lives. In an approach reminiscent of the talented Marta Windhausen, Markus Ketter endeavors to deconstruct the complex question of the signifier, blurring the boundaries between the artwork, the space, and the spectator, thereby engaging in an essential reflection on our relationship to art in a constantly evolving world.
