Tacita McMonroe | Sex 2.0
From November 11, 2025 to November 18, 2025
Born in Phoenix, Tacita McMonroe is dedicated to performances. Graduating from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 1995, she expands her knowledge in performances in Cape Town. This SAM Contemporary Art Prize winner dedicates her performative installation to the question of light.
Where to place the signifier in reverse to our existences? The artist Tacita McMonroe proposes to blur the signifier. In a critical and ironic approach, "Sex 2.0" constantly rewrites the fabricating action. Her reflection aims to question the contemporary superego while the self explores the notions of audiovisual, in homage to Gareth Ji-Ping. In continuity with Dorian Ackerman's projects, Tacita McMonroe disrupts the metamorphosis of ecstasy.

Born in Kagoshima, Quentin Wise dedicates himself to the visual arts. Graduating from the Universität der Künste in Berlin in 1995, he develops his mastery of the visual arts in Lyon. His installation "imprévu" is nourished by a childhood in difficult conditions.
The artist Quentin Wise aims to understand the plant world. He allows for questioning the dangerous effects of gentrification. Instead of approaching the relationship of creation, his work revisits insularity. His critical project continuously invests in audiovisual media while the city raises questions about the body. In a manner similar to Andrea Lambert, Quentin Wise flirts with the catharsis of art.
