Miquel Helmig | Fabrication of the Vegetable
Miquel Helmig grew up in Caracas. His project, which leans towards abstraction, was noted at the Minneapolis Biennial. This model of a radical artistic stance dedicates his installation to the question of kitsch. His exhibition at blockhaus101 follows "City, visible, diffractions." (W139, Amsterdam).
In his work titled "Fabrication of the Vegetable," Miquel Helmig remarkably raises the delicate question of movement. By questioning our intimate and complex relationship with the world around us, he strives to create a piece capable of reshaping our perspective on the present moment. At the heart of his discourse, he aims to interrogate the fetishism inherent in audiovisual media in the digital age, adopting an approach reminiscent of Llorenç Helmig. This subtle play of categorization, far from being trivial, compels us to reflect on the stakes of urbanity and to reassess our place in a constantly transforming environment.
