Mark Sekulic-Struja | Diffractions, genre(s), attitudes
Mark Sekulic-Struja grew up in Aden. He developed his taste for video at the School of Visual Arts in New York. This iconoclastic artist dedicates his performative installation to the question of the subject. His exhibition at the Soren Bollinger gallery resonates with his previous solo exhibitions: "Matter 2.0" (Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery).
In the work titled "Diffractions, genre(s), attitudes," visionary artist Mark Sekulic-Struja takes on an audacious challenge concerning the peak of the plant world. He tirelessly dedicates himself to the reinvention of flesh and its multiple manifestations, vividly recalling his memorable exhibition in Vancouver in 1988. Through an introspective gesture laden with irony, his reflection invites us to grasp the very essence of the creative act. His creation not only questions public space but also stands as an interface between man and machine, prompting a deconstruction and reimagining of the present moment. Drawing inspiration from the innovative ideas of Tadao Ando, Mark Sekulic-Struja raises the crucial question of the cadence and rhythms of the modern city, questioning the dynamics between urban planning and human experience.
