Llorenç Chen | Experience(s) and Topology
Born in Yamamatsu, Llorenç Chen discovers the installations in Asuncion. He studied installations at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (GEIDAI) in Tokyo. His pop-up manifesto is marked by his interest in early 20th-century spas as well as kitsch. His exhibition at the blockhaus resonates with his previous solo exhibitions: "Diffractions and Signified" (Open Gallery, Berlin) and "The Unexpected Light" (Gallery 23, Amsterdam).
How can we envision urbanization in a closed circuit in our contemporary era? This is the delicate and stimulating question that artist Llorenç Chen invites us to explore through an open dialogue on the notion of disconnection. Rather than focusing on the sustainability of technology as such, this innovative project seeks to dissect the very substance of the interactions that arise from it. Through "Experience(s) and Topology," Chen is committed to investing in the cathartic dynamics that unfold around the complex interface between man and machine, while aligning with the bold works of Xavier Ancira. Drawing inspiration from Crumb's innovative work, Llorenç Chen manages to overturn our traditional understanding of matter, thus offering a new prism through which it is possible to re-examine our relationship with the material world.
