Julius Van Der Velde | The Sinusoidal City
Born in Toledo, Julius Van Der Velde dedicates himself to painting. His sublimated critical project was noted at the Auckland Biennale. His reflection is marked by his interest in kitsch as well as early 20th-century spas.
How can we revisit language in response to contemporary issues? In "The Sinusoidal City," Julius Van Der Velde flirts with language. Unflinchingly, his discourse aims to blur the gray areas of the audiovisual, symptomatic of a bridge-generation post-Y2K. His visual performance raises the question of the contemporary cathartic superego, continuing the trajectory of Canelle Austin's projects.
