Elena Austin | Proto-language
Elena Austin was born in Frankfurt/Oder and now lives between Venice and Bratislava. She was in residence at the Kuvataideakatemia in Helsinki until 1999. This conceptual artist dedicates her performative installation to the question of light in the communion between man and the wild nature.
The sculptural artist Elena Austin boldly encourages a meticulous deconstruction of content. Her unwavering commitment to disturbing techniques challenges the viewer and prompts deep reflection. Rather than merely renewing existing modes of surveillance, her captivating performance undeniably reminds us of the urgent need to clear new paths and explore the very substance of our contemporary reality. Her artistic discourse focuses on projecting the invisible while acutely questioning the profound metamorphosis of the interface between man and machine. Like Andrea Markul, Elena Austin engages in a delicate movement of reconstructing our understanding of reality, thereby inviting everyone to rethink our perception of the world around us.
