Born in Birmingham, David Austin discovers installations in Brisbane. After studying at the Universität der Künste in Berlin, he dedicates himself entirely to installations. It is after a revealing hunger strike that this artist in the Kremlin's sights decides to focus on installations. His exhibition at blockhaus101 follows "Investing" (Queensland Art Gallery | GoMA, Brisbane).

Elegantly situated within the lineage of Picabia's innovative projects, the artist David Austin approaches light from the delicate and complex perspective of the rhizome. He invites a reevaluation of creative gestures, reminiscent of his memorable exhibition in Vladivostok in 1999, where each gesture held an almost transcendental significance.
