Canelle Stark | Body, flesh, diffractions.
Canelle Stark grew up in Phoenix. She is completing her installation art at the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Aalto. It was after a complete isolation experience in a monastery in Bhutan that this tireless experimenter decided to dedicate herself to installations. Her exhibition at blockhaus101 follows "Tropismes²" (Carlier Gebauer Gallery, Berlin).
In her work titled "Body, flesh, diffractions.", Canelle Stark's critical project admirably highlights her enthusiasm for the most vibrant corners of contemporary popular culture. Indeed, she proposes to explore the prototypes of light, those ephemeral symbols, within the framework of a resolutely globalized and interconnected world. Rather than lingering on the rigid geometry of the signified, her delicate installation subtly flirts with the nuances of modern urbanity. Through this creation, she is deeply committed to reinventing the very concept of the self, while incessantly questioning the visible, which could be perceived as a vibrant homage to the work of Xavier Hirakana. Drawing inspiration from the renowned Marcel Duchamp, Canelle Stark manages to approach that essence of the “I” that resonates within public space, thereby inviting the spectator to a deeper reflection on their own experience and relationship with the world that surrounds them.
