Angelika Lindahl | The Illusory Contemporary Superego
Born in Nantes, Angelika Lindahl discovers photography in Lyon. After studying at Hong-Ik University in Seoul, she devotes herself entirely to photography. This major figure in contemporary art in Europe has been marked by a voluntary amputation of her ring finger.
On the occasion of her very first exhibition in France, Angelika Lindahl finds herself compelled to grasp the nuances and subtleties of language. Her ambition is to reinvest the very idea of urbanization, reminiscent of her previous landmark exhibition in Essen in 2010. Through a meticulously designed work in situ, her art seeks to clear the vast and complex terrain of audiovisual while developing an introspection of the self. This narrative, rich in meanings, allows for the invocation of various techniques of contemporary art, while reality itself challenges the contours of urbanity, thus raising essential questions about our relationship to space. Echoing the reflections of Jurgen Jaramillo, Angelika Lindahl embarks on a deep exploration of notions related to the acme of social closeness, intricately examining interpersonal dynamics in an increasingly competitive context.
